Description For SoC Product Planning Engineering Program Manager

Apple is at the forefront of technological innovation, creating groundbreaking products like iPhones, Macs, and Apple Vision Pro, all powered by their custom Apple Silicon. This role represents a unique opportunity to join the team responsible for planning and executing the development of next-generation SoCs like A18 Pro, M4 Pro/Max, and R1. As a SoC Product Planning Engineering Program Manager, you'll work at the intersection of hardware and product development, collaborating with diverse teams including Platform, Systems architects, SoC productization, Systems engineering, Operations, Finance, and Product Marketing. You'll manage the entire lifecycle of SoCs from concept to End-of-Life (EOL), making critical decisions about product SKUs and configurations. This position requires both technical expertise and strategic thinking, as you'll be responsible for driving convergence across multiple product lines while considering complex technical and business tradeoffs. The role offers the chance to directly impact Apple's future products and technologies, working with executive leadership to shape the roadmap of one of the world's most innovative companies.

Responsibilities For SoC Product Planning Engineering Program Manager

  • Drive convergence of SoC-to-product SKU planning across multiple lines of business
  • Initiate and maintain SoC cost update to aide product SKU decision
  • Define and manage SoC bins, considering product features, cost and operational complexities
  • Chair SoC SKU review forums with cross functional leaders
  • Own and maintain SoC and product roadmap for Executive leadership
  • Facilitate decision making with relevant partners

Requirements For SoC Product Planning Engineering Program Manager

  • BS in technical field +10 years relevant industry experience
  • Proven SoC product planning experience
  • Experience in SoC test, assembly and supply chain
  • Ability to comprehend large amount of technical data
  • Technical breadth and business acumen
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different functional leadership
  • Ability to influence others without authority
