Description For Sr. Module Reliability Engineer

As a Sr. Module Reliability Engineer at Apple, you will be part of the Hardware Module Reliability Group. Your role involves guiding development teams to create reliable designs for Apple's new technology components. Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying high-risk failure modes early in the design life cycle
  • Using engineering knowledge to find the best path towards mitigation
  • Setting test specifications and driving procurement/qualification of critical equipment
  • Assessing reliability through stress testing and data analysis
  • Providing direction for failure analysis and root cause determination
  • Collaborating with design teams to determine corrective actions
  • Driving and updating FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Establishing specifications for component/module reliability
  • Setting up reliability test infrastructure at Apple suppliers
  • Performing validation test development
  • Generating reliability test plans and driving test execution
  • Analyzing and summarizing reliability data
  • Providing risk assessments

You'll work on cutting-edge technologies such as FaceID, TouchID, iPhone Camera, Proximity Sensor, Taptic Engine, and AppleWatch ForceTouch. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build your skills while learning about a wide variety of technologies in a diverse team environment.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in materials science, physics, or engineering, with experience in failure analysis techniques and materials characterization tools. You should possess excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, including managing activities at overseas vendor sites.

Requirements For Sr. Module Reliability Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent field
  • 7+ years of experience in an engineering role involving hands-on work
  • Understanding of physics behind mechanical & electrical properties of materials
  • Exposure to failure analysis techniques and materials characterization tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel internationally without restrictions
