Description For SRAM Circuit Design Engineer

Join Apple's world-class silicon design team that delivered the groundbreaking M1 chip and other custom silicon for flagship products including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Airpods, HomePod and Watch. As part of the Digital Custom Group (DCG), you'll be at the forefront of innovative SRAM circuit design, working on critical components that power Apple's custom silicon solutions.

In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement custom digital circuits for SRAM, optimizing for power, timing, area, and yield. You'll work directly on components that influence CPU, GPU, SoC, Neural Engine, and Camera designs in Apple's Custom Silicon group.

Your responsibilities will span the entire design cycle, from architecture definition to post-silicon validation. You'll leverage your expertise in nanometer device physics, cache design, and RTL modeling to create cutting-edge solutions. The position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology and contribute to products used by millions of customers worldwide.

This is a highly visible role that combines technical expertise with strategic impact, requiring both deep technical knowledge and collaborative skills. Responsibilities For SRAM Circuit Design Engineer

  • Design and implement custom digital circuits for SRAM design
  • Work with logic/architecture team to formulate design specifications
  • Define architecture/topologies optimizing for power, timing, area and yield
  • Perform schematic capture, simulations/analysis, margin verifications
  • Conduct functional equivalency and DFT modeling
  • Work with layout team to create optimal GDS
  • Verify extracted GDS meets design specifications
  • Perform backend verification, IR/EM
  • Write RTL, validate use-cases, verify against design schematics
  • Support post-silicon effort to enable productization

Requirements For SRAM Circuit Design Engineer

  • BS and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience within a SoC design cycle
  • Knowledge of Cache design/architecture and memory hierarchy
  • Working knowledge of RTL modeling
  • Understanding of industry-standard design tools
  • Deep understanding of nanometer device physics
  • Ability to devise experiments and analyze data for silicon debug
  • Machine Learning algorithms and scripting knowledge
