System Product Design Engineer - Apple Vision Pro

Apple Vision Pro is a revolutionary spatial computer that seamlessly blends digital content with your physical space. The Product Design Engineer role will give you direct responsibility over the mechanical design of parts, assemblies and modules within Apple Vision products and own the analysis, assembly and reliability of these parts. This role spans the product design cycle from concept development, prototyping and testing, to collaborating with vendors to bring the design to life. You will engage in frequent multi-disciplinary collaboration with teams like Industrial Design, Project Management, Manufacturing, EE, Display, Camera, Antenna, Battery, Softgoods, Human Engineering, Human Factors, Safety and more.

Responsibilities:

• Mechanical design of parts, assemblies, and modules for Apple Vision products
• Analysis, assembly, and reliability of parts
• Concept development, prototyping, and testing
• Collaboration with vendors to bring designs to life
• Multi-disciplinary collaboration with various teams

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 3-5+ years of hands-on, consumer electronics product design experience
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred)
• Proficiency in GD&T techniques and creating 2D drawings
• Proficiency in tolerance analyses with statistical techniques
• Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills
• Thorough knowledge of engineering materials
• Experience working with external manufacturing vendors
• Excellent communication skills
• Creative problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or similar field
• Fluency in Unigraphics NX, statistical software (JMP), MacOS
• Experience working through entire product cycle
• Experience leading teams through product development
• Knowledge in various consumer electronics disciplines
• Experience collaborating with Asian manufacturing facilities
• Experience designing wearable consumer electronics
