Description For System Signal Integrity Engineer

Join Apple's Mac organization as a System Signal Integrity Engineer, where you'll play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge Mac and Accessory products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on system-level signal integrity design, analysis, and validation from conceptual design through production.

You'll be working with state-of-the-art technology, applying your expertise in signal and power integrity for high-speed SerDes, Parallel bus, and single-ended signaling. The role involves sophisticated modeling and analysis using advanced tools like PowerSI, HFSS, and various 3D EM tools.

As a key member of the hardware team, you'll be responsible for designing and optimizing multi-layer PCBs, flex cables, connectors, packages, and die components. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of Apple's renowned Mac products. The position requires deep technical knowledge combined with practical experience in channel analysis, interconnect modeling, and high-speed serial interfaces.

Responsibilities For System Signal Integrity Engineer

  • Support system-level signal integrity design, analysis, and validation for Mac and Accessory products
  • Design Mac products from signal integrity perspectives through simulation and analysis
  • Model physical channel topologies including differential, single ended, and parallel bus types
  • Support custom connector and cable design and development
  • Provide factory build support
  • Support electrical compliance testing
  • Work with various tools including PowerSI, SIWave, HFSS, nWave, Q3D, and nApex

Requirements For System Signal Integrity Engineer

  • A solid understanding of signal integrity fundamentals for both single-ended and differential signals
  • Experience in modeling various interconnect using 3D EM tools
  • System-level Serdes design and analysis skills including transmitter and receiver equalization methods
  • Masters degree with at least 5+ years of industry work experience
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate
