Description For Vulnerability Research Manager

Apple's Security Engineering & Architecture team (SEAR) is seeking a Vulnerability Research Manager to join their extraordinary team of security researchers. This role focuses on securing low-level technologies such as the iOS and OS X kernel, boot ROMs, firmware, and hardware. The ideal candidate will have experience in dealing with complex systems and bringing ideas to the product level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying threats in advance and responding to critical issues as they arise
  • Reverse engineering exploits and providing insightful analysis
  • Creating innovative tools and consulting with other teams on hardware and software
  • Auditing code and reviewing designs
  • Securing systems by demonstrating how they can be broken

The role requires strong technical skills, particularly in designing embedded and µ-architecture systems with security in mind on macOS and iOS, with some exposure to the kernel. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for creating effective and pragmatic security technologies.
