Apple's Watch Division is seeking a System Engineering Program Team member to lead their complex prototype Build Matrix operations. This crucial role involves managing and coordinating the development of Apple Watch prototypes across multiple configurations and components. The position combines technical project management with strategic oversight of manufacturing and supply chain operations.

The role holder will be responsible for managing a sophisticated Build Matrix system that handles over 200 configurations and 1500+ component options. They will work closely with Technical resources, Engineers, Module owners, and various stakeholders to compile and maintain comprehensive build instructions for suppliers and CM partners.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in bringing new Apple Watch products from concept to prototype, managing both technical and operational aspects of the development process.

Responsibilities For Watch System Engineering Program Team, Apple Watch, System PM

  • Drive cross-functional teams towards consensus of requirements and interdependencies
  • Lead complex material availability discussions with EPS and CM teams
  • Manage CM EPS and business teams and resources
  • Communicate CTB status to System EPM and management teams
  • Present build CTB projections and risks to executive management
  • Own budget for system level prototype builds
  • Respond quickly to changes to overall goals, schedule, and architecture

Requirements For Watch System Engineering Program Team, Apple Watch, System PM

  • BS/BA degree
  • 1-4+ years of project management experience
  • MBA or Engineering degree/experience preferred
  • Impeccable organizational, multi-tasking, and management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Experience managing, organizing and maintaining large quantities of data
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally (25%)
  • Experience in manufacturing or material planning
  • Real world experience in working with overseas suppliers
