Description For Watch System Engineering Program Team, Apple Watch, System PM

Apple's Watch Division System EPT team is seeking a System Program Manager to drive and own their complex prototype Build Matrix for the Apple Watch. This role is central to coordinating the development and production of Apple's innovative wearable technology. The position involves managing a sophisticated matrix of 200+ configurations and 1500+ component options, working with cross-functional teams including Technical resources, Engineers, Module owners, and various management stakeholders.

The role requires strong leadership skills to drive consensus among diverse teams, manage complex material availability discussions, and oversee budget responsibilities for system-level prototype builds. You'll be at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and project management, working with both domestic and international teams to ensure successful prototype builds.

Responsibilities For Watch System Engineering Program Team, Apple Watch, System PM

  • Drive cross-functional teams towards consensus of requirements and interdependencies
  • Lead complex material availability discussions with EPS and CM teams
  • Manage CM EPS and business teams and resources
  • Communicate CTB status to System EPM and management teams
  • Present build CTB projections and risks to executive management
  • Own budget for system level prototype builds
  • Respond quickly to changes to overall goals, schedule, and architecture

Requirements For Watch System Engineering Program Team, Apple Watch, System PM

  • BS/BA degree
  • 1-4+ years of project management experience
  • MBA or Engineering degree/experience preferred
  • Impeccable organizational, multi-tasking, and management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Experience managing, organizing and maintaining large quantities of data
  • Real world experience in working with overseas suppliers
  • Experience in manufacturing or material planning
  • Willingness to travel internationally (25%)
