Description For Wireless Module Test Engineer

Apple is seeking a Wireless Module Test Engineering Lead (WMTE) to join their Hardware Technology organization. This role presents a unique opportunity to work on groundbreaking products that impact millions of Apple customers daily. The position involves leading RF module testing strategies across multiple wireless technologies including Wifi, UWB, GPS, Cellular, and NFC.

As the WMTE, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing high-volume RF module tests at module factories, working with cutting-edge wireless technologies and multiple chipsets. The role requires a strong background in Electrical Engineering and RF, combining technical expertise with strategic leadership to drive testing methodologies from early concept through mass production.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of industry experience, with deep knowledge of wireless technologies and proven expertise in programming and test automation. You'll work with state-of-the-art lab equipment and testing platforms, leading cross-functional teams and vendors to establish effective test strategies.

This position offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $166,600 to $296,300, plus opportunities for stock awards, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. Located in San Diego, you'll be part of Apple's innovative hardware team, contributing to the next generation of wireless technology integration in Apple products.

Responsibilities For Wireless Module Test Engineer

  • Design, develop, and implement test strategy/methodology across wireless technologies at module factories
  • Own and debug test stations at module factories
  • Ensure Wireless module tests are planned around upstream and downstream tests at multiple vendors
  • Drive module vendors, fixture suppliers and instrument vendors for test implementation
  • Analyze volume data to finalize test requirements and provide feedback on engineering decisions

Requirements For Wireless Module Test Engineer

Python
  • BS with 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Extensive programming experience in C, C++, Matlab, Python, or comparable languages
  • Skilled at driving cross-functional decision-making and collaborating with various test teams
  • Hands on experience with RF lab equipment and bench validation
  • Experience with high-volume automatic test equipment (ATE) testers
  • Experienced in data and yield analysis, with proficiency in JMP, Tableau, or similar tools
