Description For Wireless Systems and Algorithm Design Engineer

Apple is seeking a Wireless Systems and Algorithm Design Engineer to join their growing wireless silicon development team. This role is part of the wireless SOC organization responsible for all aspects of wireless silicon development. The ideal candidate will be at the center of the silicon design and bring-up group, responsible for the wireless system design of innovative wireless SoC products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and simulating innovative wireless communication systems
  • Implementing system models and investigating algorithms for performance enhancements
  • Defining control procedures for physical layer hardware modules
  • Collaborating with digital designers and firmware teams
  • Bringing up, testing, and optimizing real silicon in the lab

The role requires strong analytical skills, innovative thinking, and fundamental knowledge to design creative algorithms, innovative architectures, and protocols. The engineer will work closely with hardware digital designers, RF/analog designers, and software teams to define and specify wireless systems.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience (MS or PhD preferred)
  • Extensive experience in physical layer core algorithm design
  • Strong background in communication theory, information theory, and signal processing
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and MATLAB for algorithm development
  • Knowledge of wireless protocols such as 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth
