As a Sensor Validation Engineer at Applied Intuition, you will play a crucial role in improving the fidelity and accuracy of synthetic simulations across various industries. You'll be working with tools to train future autonomous perception systems, focusing on sensor simulation models for Lidar, Radar, Camera, and Ultrasonics using physical models of sensing systems, materials, and worlds.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and executing tests for correlation experiments between real and synthetic sensor outputs
  • Developing hardware and software components for data collection and analysis
  • Improving underlying scenes, materials, and models to enhance simulation
  • Collaborating with customers to validate their models and integrate with the simulation environment
  • Writing white papers and documentation detailing results

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 2+ years of experience
  • Experience with hardware and software components of sensors (Lidar, Radar, & Camera)
  • Proficiency in data analysis, including statistics and signal processing
  • Software development skills in Python & C++

Additional desirable skills include:

  • Understanding of physical processes in sensor operation
  • Hands-on experience with characterization of simulated sensor models
  • Competence in linear algebra, antenna theory, optics, circuits, photonics, and electro-optics
  • Familiarity with computer graphics technologies
