Description For Software Engineer - DevOps

Applied Intuition is seeking a Software Engineer with a focus on DevOps to improve developer experience and deployment processes. This role involves working across engineering teams to identify key sources of friction, improve workflows, develop new tools, and uplevel the velocity and reliability of the entire software and robotics development and deployment lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, building, and improving tools, libraries, and frameworks for the engineering team
  • Building and testing scalable tools for deploying to various robotic and cloud platforms
  • Optimizing compile/build times using tools like Bazel, CMake, Docker
  • Improving software deployment and data collection frameworks
  • Identifying and solving bottlenecks within the software stack

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with CI, build, and deployment technologies (Bazel, Buildkite, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins)
  • Scripting skills for automation
  • Experience with Linux and/or ARM systems
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform

Nice to have:

  • Experience in automotive, robotics, or related industries
  • Experience with ROS or similar robotics middleware
  • Experience deploying software on public clouds (e.g., AWS) or on-premise clusters
