Description For Software Engineer - Perception

Applied Intuition is seeking a software engineer with expertise in perception for autonomous vehicles or robotics. The role focuses on building key capabilities of perception modules within an autonomous vehicle stack, as well as designing and developing computer vision and machine learning techniques for self-driving vehicle navigation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prototyping, evaluating, refining, and deploying capabilities for real-time perception systems
  • Collaborating with prediction and planning engineers on cross-team initiatives
  • Deploying perception modules to production hardware and field testing
  • Collaborating with customers' engineers and managing customer relationships

Requirements:

  • Experience building software components or systems addressing real-world perception challenges
  • Expertise in subdomains such as modeling, input pipelines, evaluation, deployment, and model optimization
  • Fluency in C++ and/or Python

Nice to have:

  • Master's degree or PhD in computer science, physics, robotics, or related fields
  • 2+ years of experience in the autonomous vehicle industry
  • Peer-reviewed research at machine learning conferences
