Description For Product Quality Engineer (PQE)

We're seeking a Product Quality Engineer (PQE) to join our dynamic team in creating state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed for human environments.

As a PQE at Apptronik, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining high product quality standards. Your responsibilities will include documenting issues, driving cross-functional teams for corrective action, and overseeing quality during the transition from prototypes to mass production. You'll work closely with hardware design, operations, and software teams to resolve issues and implement quality plans at contract manufacturers.

Key responsibilities include championing the bug/issue resolution process, creating visual tools to drive team action, developing product quality plans, auditing contract manufacturer adherence, establishing quality control procedures, and monitoring factory yields. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering, manufacturing processes, and experience with hardware testing and new product launches.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, data analysis capabilities, and experience with contract manufacturing and high-volume production. Additional desirable skills include experience with PPAP and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities For Product Quality Engineer (PQE)

  • Champion of the bug/issue resolution process, documenting bugs, aligning stakeholders and driving corrective action
  • Consolidate issues into dashboards and other visual tools to drive team action & update leadership on top issues
  • Develop Product quality plans and assess CM adherence
  • Audit CM team PPAP for component validation
  • Monitor factory yields/issues on production assembly & RMA lines
  • Establish Outgoing Quality Control procedures and Customer Audit Processes
  • Up to 20% Travel Internationally

Requirements For Product Quality Engineer (PQE)

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals & manufacturing processes
  • Experience with hardware test development & manufacturing
  • Experience with data analysis, able to drive improvements to data capturing & manipulate into use dashboards/charts
  • Experience supporting new product launches from a manufacturing or product development perspective
  • Excellent written and oral communication in highly technical applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
  • Detailed knowledge of product development process and life cycles
  • Excellent knowledge of business software tools (Microsoft office suite, G-Suite, Dropbox, etc.)
