Apptronik is building robots for the real world to improve human quality of life and to help solve the ever-increasing labor shortage problem. Our team has been building some of the most advanced robots on the planet for years, dating back to the DARPA Robotics Challenge. We apply our expertise across the full robotics stack to some of the most important and impactful problems our society faces, and expect our products and technology to change the world for the better.
As a Test Engineer at Apptronik, you will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. These robots are designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around them.
Your role will involve collaborating closely with the engineering team to develop and execute system test campaigns, focusing on verifying the performance of our Apollo platform. You will contribute to the refinement and enhancement of product designs towards commercial deployment, while fostering a culture of excellence within the testing process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the engineering team to develop verification test plans spanning the product life cycle.
- Conducting comprehensive testing from component-level through assembly to final-level testing.
- Designing and implementing test fixtures and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable testing procedures.
- Analyzing test data to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to manufacturing challenges.
- Providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement based on data analysis.
- Conducting root cause analysis and proposing corrective actions to enhance product maturity, manufacturing efficiency, and quality.
- Developing work instructions and test procedures for new products.
- Ensuring machine qualification through calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability, and reproducibility.
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in product/system level testing, with a focus on component-level through assembly & post-build.
- Strong understanding of robotics principles, pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLC, and PC-based control systems.
- Familiarity with optics principles and their application in positioning and alignment machines.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, PFMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Python is highly desirable.
Join Apptronik and be part of a team that's shaping the future of robotics and making a positive impact on society.
