Description For Software Engineer

Arc is revolutionizing the marine industry by developing cutting-edge electric water sport boats. Our mission is to electrify all waterborne vessels, addressing the limitations of traditional gas-powered boats with modern, sustainable solutions. We're using aerospace and automotive-inspired techniques to create superior watercraft that are more reliable, quieter, quicker, and environmentally friendly.

As a Software Engineer at Arc, you'll be working from our Torrance manufacturing facility, focusing on customer-facing applications including boat infotainment systems, mobile apps, and websites. This role requires someone with at least 2 years of industry experience and strong frontend development skills, particularly in technologies like React, iOS, or Android development.

We operate in a lean, high-trust environment that values ownership, empathy, humility, pragmatism, and diversity. Our team members enjoy significant autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to various aspects of the business. The role offers competitive compensation ($160,000-$180,000), equity, comprehensive benefits, and the unique opportunity to drive positive environmental change through innovative technology.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in frontend architectures, API development, and a passion for creating high-quality, maintainable software. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, particularly the product team, to develop cutting-edge user experiences. Experience with embedded systems and resource-constrained devices is a plus, as is enthusiasm for boating and clean energy.

Join Arc to be part of a mission-driven team that's transforming the marine industry while promoting environmental sustainability. You'll have the chance to work on industry-defining vehicles, enjoy excellent benefits including nearly free health insurance, 401k, generous parental leave, and even get to experience the product firsthand through boat rides!
