Description For Systems Engineer

Ardent is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team in a hybrid role based in the Washington D.C. area. This position focuses on managing and supporting the complete Microsoft 365 infrastructure in a multi-tenant organization. The role combines technical expertise in cloud services, particularly Microsoft's ecosystem, with operational leadership and compliance management.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire M365 environment, including Azure, Azure AD (Entra), Purview, Security, Compliance, Defender, and various other Microsoft cloud services. They will play a crucial role in maintaining security standards, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with CMMI, CMMC, and ISO requirements.

Responsibilities For Systems Engineer

  • Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 environment including Azure, Azure AD, and related services
  • Implement and oversee security and compliance features within M365
  • Monitor and optimize M365 performance and usage
  • Oversee daily IT operations and service desk management
  • Support CMMI/CMMC and ISO compliance efforts
  • Perform system audits, patches, and updates
  • Provide training and knowledge-sharing to staff
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives

Requirements For Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing M365 environments and IT operations
  • Experience with IT service management platforms and service desk leadership
  • Microsoft 365 certifications (Enterprise Administrator Expert)
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and cloud computing
  • Experience with compliance frameworks (CMMI, CMMC, ISO)
  • Must be willing to undergo government background investigation
