Description For Systems Engineer

Ardent is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team in a hybrid role based in Washington, D.C. This position focuses on managing and supporting the full suite of Microsoft 365 infrastructure in a multi-tenant organization. The role combines technical expertise in cloud systems, particularly Microsoft's ecosystem, with operational leadership and compliance responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day IT operations, including service desk management, while ensuring seamless integration across critical IT platforms. A significant aspect of the role involves participating in compliance initiatives such as CMMI, CMMC, and ISO audits.

Responsibilities For Systems Engineer

  • Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 environment including Azure, Azure AD, and related services
  • Implement and oversee security and compliance features within M365
  • Monitor and optimize M365 performance and usage
  • Oversee daily IT operations and service desk management
  • Support CMMI/CMMC and ISO compliance efforts
  • Perform system audits, patches, and updates
  • Provide training and knowledge-sharing to staff
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives

Requirements For Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing M365 environments
  • Experience with IT service management platforms
  • Microsoft 365 certifications
  • In-depth knowledge of M365 applications and services
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure
  • Experience with compliance frameworks
  • Must be willing to undergo government background investigation
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification (preferred)
