Description For Customer Reliability Engineer - Infra

Astronomer is seeking a Customer Reliability Engineer (CRE) to join their globally-distributed team. This role focuses on ensuring the success of customers using their managed Airflow service. As an infrastructure specialist, you'll become an expert in Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP. The position requires working 9AM-3PM Eastern US time Monday to Friday, with flexible remaining hours.

The ideal candidate will have a deep desire to master new technologies and a background in infrastructure management. You'll be responsible for maintaining platform reliability, working directly with customers, and contributing to the company's growth through various side projects. The role offers exposure to multiple aspects of the business, from engineering to customer relationship management.

Astronomer offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 - $150,000 plus equity, and embraces remote work culture. Responsibilities For Customer Reliability Engineer - Infra

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain the platform for availability and reliability
  • Work with customers' data engineers, system admins, DevOps teams, and management
  • Maintain 24x7 coverage through specified 6-hour pager period
  • Participate in paid on-call rotation for weekend coverage
  • Own customer experience and meet SLAs
