This role is central to Astronomer's data operations, working on everything from dashboards for managing operations to models identifying new sales opportunities.
As a Data Engineer at Astronomer, you'll be designing and developing data pipelines and operational workflows using Airflow, SQL, and Python. You'll work in an agile, sprint-based team, orchestrating pipelines for ETL, reverse ETL, business processes, data quality checks, and operational analytics. You'll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of data sets and automate business operations using integrations with platforms like Salesforce, Zendesk, and Stripe.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable analytics, driving the development of data orchestration and ETL/ELT frameworks, and providing feedback to product and engineering teams as an internal user of the platform. You'll also contribute to the development of tools and Airflow extensions to assist internal teams and the broader Apache Airflow community.
The ideal candidate should have data engineering and ETL/ELT experience in a production environment, strong SQL and Python skills, and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential. Bonus points for proficiency with modern data engineering tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, or BigQuery, and familiarity with data analysis, statistics, or machine learning.
Astronomer offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $130,000, based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package.
