Description For Sales Engineer

Astronomer is seeking a Sales Engineer to join their globally-distributed team, focusing on their industry-leading DataOps platform, Astro. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring 2+ years of experience in the data space. The position offers a competitive salary range of $200,000 - $265,000 plus equity.

As a Sales Engineer, you'll be instrumental in helping clients implement powerful data workflows and accelerate their business outcomes. The role involves designing proof-of-concept solutions, conducting technical demos, and contributing to the Apache Airflow community. You'll work with cutting-edge technology while having the opportunity to influence product development through customer feedback.

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in data engineering concepts, excellent communication skills, and experience with modern data tools. Knowledge of Python scripting, Apache Airflow, and production data workflows is advantageous. Requirements For Sales Engineer

Python
  • 2+ years in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Consulting in data space
  • Familiarity with core data engineering concepts (orchestration, ELT, Git, RBAC)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of customer needs and ability to support through challenges
  • Eagerness to learn and experiment with new technical concepts
