Description For Sales Engineer

Astronomer is seeking a Sales Engineer to join their team working on Astro, their industry-leading DataOps platform powered by Apache Airflow. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, making it perfect for professionals who enjoy both technical problem-solving and client interaction.

As a Sales Engineer, you'll be instrumental in helping clients implement and optimize their data workflows. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in sales engineering or similar roles within the data space. You'll work with cutting-edge technology while guiding customers through complex data challenges and influencing product development through direct customer feedback.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to work with modern data tools and contribute to the Apache Airflow community. You'll be responsible for designing proof-of-concept solutions, conducting technical demos, and providing expert guidance to engineering teams. The position requires strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Astronomer offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $200,000 to $265,000, plus equity. Requirements For Sales Engineer

Python

  • Familiarity with core data engineering concepts (orchestration, ELT, Git, RBAC)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Genuine desire to understand customer needs
  • Eagerness to learn and experiment with new technical concepts
