Astronomer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with an infrastructure focus to join their R&D team. This role is part of the dataplane management team, which is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that runs customer workloads.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on software that manages hundreds (and eventually thousands) of kubernetes clusters across clouds. You'll be developing critical features for core infrastructure, including workload identity, multitenancy, cross-region disaster recovery, cloud quota management, and private network access.
As a senior engineer, you'll be instrumental in building and scaling Astro, working with complex distributed systems and contributing to the platform's overall performance, reliability, and scalability. The ideal candidate brings experience with large-scale SaaS infrastructures, knowledge of fleet management, and expertise in languages like Golang or Java.
