Description For Senior Software Engineer, Observability

Astronomer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their R&D team and work on their data observability product. As a globally-distributed, venture-backed team, they're building Astro, an industry-leading data orchestration and observability platform powered by Airflow. This role is crucial for their expansion strategy and will directly impact their ability to scale and deliver value to customers.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of engineering experience with a strong background in Golang, SQL, and distributed systems. They'll be responsible for designing and developing the observability platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring platform reliability and scalability.

  • Contribute to the design, development and vision of Astro's data observability platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements
  • Implement and iterate on the observability and governance features
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the architecture and implementation of our observability platform
  • Contribute to the overall platform usability, reliability, and scalability
