Description For Solutions Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

Astronomer, the company behind Astro - an industry-leading DataOps platform, is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Engineer to work with their most strategic private-cloud customers. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on helping customers maximize their Astronomer investment.

The position requires a blend of infrastructure management, customer support, and technical problem-solving skills. You'll be working in a hybrid model, spending at least 3 days per week in the Hyderabad office, while managing Kubernetes-based deployments, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, and ensuring optimal performance of customer environments.

As a Solutions Engineer, you'll be responsible for a select number of strategic accounts, requiring deep technical knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and Linux systems. You'll need to be comfortable with both technical implementation and customer communication, as you'll be the bridge between customers and the product team.

The ideal candidate brings 3-6 years of industry experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on Kubernetes expertise. Experience with major cloud platforms, strong communication skills, and a customer-centric mindset are essential. Knowledge of Apache Airflow, CI/CD pipelines, and Python scripting are valuable additions.

Responsibilities For Solutions Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

  • Support Astronomer Managed Airflow Software installations on customer on-premise environments
  • Set up and measure monitoring & alerting metrics for Customer on-prem infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues related to Kubernetes-based private-cloud offerings
  • Drive major incidents, root cause analysis, and change impact analysis
  • Develop automation scripts for environment monitoring and health checks
  • Provide technical guidance for critical infrastructure issues
  • Act as liaison between clients and Product team for feedback and improvements
