Staff Software Engineer

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in developing Stripe for Transportation, working on critical payment systems that enable smooth capital movement in the supply chain industry.

In this role, you'll lead large technical projects, design and maintain APIs and services, and make critical decisions that balance business priorities with user experience and system reliability. The position requires extensive experience in both backend and frontend technologies, with a focus on building scalable B2B or B2C SaaS products.

The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of professional experience and strong technical expertise in Ruby on Rails, Python, NodeJS, and React. You'll need to demonstrate the ability to design complex systems, take ownership of projects, and maintain high standards while working in a fast-paced startup environment. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with a preference for candidates based in San Francisco or New York.
