This senior-level position demands a seasoned professional with extensive experience in space systems and cyber security, offering a competitive salary range of $170,000-$195,000.
The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, requiring expertise in system design, integration, and deployment of complex space systems. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for driving system architecture, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of mission-critical solutions.
The ideal candidate brings 20+ years of experience, with deep knowledge of DOD space communication systems and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). They must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to lead large-scale system deployments. The position requires a SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain TOP SECRET SCI clearance.

Responsibilities For Chief Engineer
- Lead the design, development, and integration of assigned systems
- Oversee system testing strategies including unit, integration, and performance tests
- Produce system documentation and communicate technical details
- Identify system risks and devise mitigation strategies
- Mentor junior engineers and team members
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Lead system development and validation testing
Requirements For Chief Engineer
- Current U.S. Government SECRET clearance with ability to obtain TOP SECRET SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of experience or Master's with 17+ years of experience
- Experience in leading design and deployment of large-scale space systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of DOD space communication systems
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience leading cloud-based environments and network infrastructure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with M.S. Office Products
