Description For Lead Controls and Instrumentation Engineer

Avnos is pioneering sustainable solutions in direct air capture of carbon dioxide through innovative water-integrated technology. As the Lead Controls and Instrumentation Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the Technology and Projects organization, leading the development and implementation of HDAC technology from pilot to commercial scale. This position uniquely combines working with the Projects team on full-scale system design and deployment while managing R&D control systems to advance core technology.

The role demands expertise in EPC skill sets for designing, fabricating, and operating controls and electrical equipment. You'll be part of a diverse, inclusive team of scientists, engineers, and technical operators working collaboratively to address climate change through carbon dioxide removal. The position offers competitive compensation ($150,000-$170,000) plus comprehensive benefits including full medical coverage, equity, and unlimited PTO.

Requirements For Lead Controls and Instrumentation Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics or Controls Engineering
  • 8+ years of professional experience in controls and instrumentation engineering
  • Knowledge of electrical and controls design best practices, codes, and manufacturing safety standards
  • Proficiency at creating electrical schematics
  • Experience with EPC project deliverable life cycles
  • Hardware fabrication and assembly experience
  • Experience with controls architectures and PLC development environments
  • Experience with HAZOP analyses and developing EHS protocols
  • Working knowledge of bench-scale instrumentation and controls hardware
