Description For Data Engineer (f/m/d)

Data sits at the heart of Awin. As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for collecting data from different sources, sanitizing, cleansing, transforming, and consolidating it to support better commercial decisions and provide best-in-class campaign management. You'll work with a global team of data engineers, analysts, and reporting teams, ensuring smooth operation of the data warehouse. Key responsibilities include writing clean code, troubleshooting data transformation errors, creating new Azure pipelines and data bricks notebooks, and finding innovative ways to improve existing processes. You'll be accountable for data quality and accuracy, and will present findings to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or higher in data science, data engineering, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience as a data warehouse developer or data engineer. You should have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Azure data engineering pipelines, database and dimensional modeling technologies, and proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, Python, and PySpark. Experience with big data environments, AI/ML frameworks, and Spark is preferred.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer (f/m/d)

  • Write clean, elegant, and maintainable code using data warehousing best practices and modeling techniques
  • Troubleshoot data transformation errors and formulate plans to fix them
  • Present findings of bugs and system improvements to stakeholders
  • Create new Azure pipelines and data bricks notebooks to add data points to existing and new sources
  • Add new datapoints to existing AAS cube
  • Create new reports and update existing report definitions
  • Find innovative ways to improve performance of existing processes and transformation functions
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of data and reports

Requirements For Data Engineer (f/m/d)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in data science, data engineering, business intelligence, or related field
  • 2+ years working experience as data warehouse developer or data engineer with Python
  • Hands-on experience with full Microsoft Azure data engineering pipelines
  • Excellent knowledge of database and dimensional modeling technologies
  • Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Python (NumPy, Pandas), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, Azure SQL DB
  • Strong skills in SQL, T-SQL, Python, and PySpark
  • Working knowledge of scrum and Agile practices
  • Proven communication and analysis skills
  • Experience in big data environments (preferred)
  • Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks/libraries (preferred)
  • Experience with Spark and JSON (preferred)
