Description For Data Centre Engineering Operations (Level 4), Infraops

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer, you'll be part of the team that keeps the cloud running by maintaining AWS data centers worldwide.

The role involves managing critical facilities, ensuring operational excellence in safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost. You'll be responsible for engineering operations including risk management, maintenance planning, and vendor management within AWS Data Centers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing critical infrastructure maintenance and operations
  • Acting as primary point of contact for stakeholders
  • Participating in 24/7 rotating shifts and emergency response
  • Overseeing contractor and vendor management
  • Establishing performance benchmarks and conducting analysis
  • Implementing projects to improve facility capacity and efficiency

Responsibilities For Data Centre Engineering Operations (Level 4), Infraops

  • Manage critical infrastructure maintenance and operations
  • Act as site primary point of contact for stakeholders
  • Manage planned and unplanned site works for critical infrastructure
  • Oversee contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Establish performance benchmarks and conduct analysis
  • Generate change management requests & incident management tickets
  • Coordinate projects with various business units
  • Establish technical documentation
  • Drive & implement facility improvement projects
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events

Requirements For Data Centre Engineering Operations (Level 4), Infraops

Linux
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in maintaining a DC or Critical space facility
  • Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment
  • Familiar with Service Management systems concepts
  • Ability to participate in 24 x 7 rotating shift roster
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical degree (preferred)
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data center environment (preferred)
  • Experience in vendor/contractor management (preferred)
