Description For Data Centre Engineering Operations (Level 4), Infraops

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer to join their Infrastructure Operations team. This role is crucial in maintaining AWS's global infrastructure, supporting data centers worldwide. The position involves managing critical facilities, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining high standards for safety and security.

The DCEO Engineer will be responsible for engineering operations including risk management, maintenance planning, and vendor management within AWS Data Centers. They will ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment operates within parameters, respond to incidents, and become subject matter experts for the facility.

This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse teams across AWS, including software engineers, hardware specialists, and network engineers. You'll be part of maintaining the backbone of AWS's cloud infrastructure, ensuring continuous service for customers worldwide. The position requires technical expertise in critical facility management and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities For Data Centre Engineering Operations (Level 4), Infraops

  • Act as site primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage planned and unplanned site works for critical infrastructure
  • On-site management of contractors and vendors
  • Establish performance benchmarks and prepare reports
  • Generate change management requests & incident management tickets
  • Coordinate projects and manage capacity with various teams
  • Establish documentation for technical support
  • Drive & implement projects to increase facility capacity and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events
  • Perform rack installs, decommissioning, and facility MEP management

Requirements For Data Centre Engineering Operations (Level 4), Infraops

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in maintaining a DC or Critical space facility
  • Familiar with concepts and interaction of Service Management systems (Problem and Change)
  • Ability to participate in a 24 x 7 rotating shift roster
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data center environment
  • Experience in management of vendors/contractors
