Machine Learning Engineer, Gen AI Innovation Center, AWS

The Generative AI Innovation Center at AWS empowers customers to harness state-of-the-art AI technologies for transformative business opportunities. As a Software Development Engineer (SDE), you'll be at the forefront of developing custom Large Language Models (LLMs) across languages, domains, and modalities.

Your role involves designing and implementing distributed training pipelines for LLMs using tools like Fully Sharded Data Parallel (FSDP) and DeepSpeed, ensuring scalability and efficiency. You'll adapt LLMs through continued pre-training, fine-tuning, and Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF).

Working with AWS's custom AI accelerators (Inferentia and Trainium), you'll optimize AI models using the AWS Neuron SDK and develop custom kernels for enhanced performance. Collaboration with enterprise customers and foundational model providers is key to understanding their challenges and co-developing tailored generative AI solutions.

The compensation reflects geographic market variations, ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year base pay, plus equity, sign-on payments, and additional benefits depending on experience and location.
