Description For Network Development Engineer, Datacentre Fabrics - Product Engineering

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Network Fabric Engineering (NFE) team. This role is crucial in building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks that support AWS across multiple global datacenters. The Core Networking team focuses on building Data Centers and the network infrastructure that enables efficient operations. As a Network Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for high-quality network operations, deployments, scaling, and technology refresh while working with cutting-edge networking technologies.

The role offers an opportunity to work with diverse teams of software, hardware, and network engineers, collaborating on challenging problems that impact AWS's global infrastructure. You'll be part of delivering the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers.

Key responsibilities include implementing network changes, working with automation teams, leading network projects, troubleshooting complex networking issues, and maintaining standards across the networking toolset. The position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation and occasional travel to data center/network sites.

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, Datacentre Fabrics - Product Engineering

  • 4+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role with IP routing protocols/technologies
  • 4+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms
  • 4+ years experience in technical on-call capacity
  • 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing
  • Experience with router platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, Arista, etc.
  • Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures
