AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering (BERE) team within the GCNA (Global Connectivity and Network Availability) Organization. This role is crucial in maintaining and expanding one of the world's largest networks that grows by 70% annually.
The position combines network engineering expertise with systems operations to deliver sustainable solutions for AWS's global infrastructure. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing network solutions that support AWS's massive scale, working with cutting-edge technologies and solving complex challenges that come with operating at cloud-scale.
As a Network Development Engineer, you'll collaborate with diverse teams across AWS, including software engineers, hardware specialists, and security experts. Responsibilities For Network Development Engineer, Enterprise Network Engineering
- Design and develop network solutions to meet business and customer requirements
- Work with automation teams in defining scaling tools
- Lead network projects in sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, and optimization
- Sustain AWS next generation networks for significant customers
- Operate and troubleshoot network routing, inter-connectivity, and configurations issues
- Drive innovation from Top of Rack to the Network Border
- Partner with Network/Infrastructure organization on engineering and standards
- Maintain networking toolset standards and compliance
- Create and review documentation and processes
- Collaborate with highest tier escalation engineers
Requirements For Network Development Engineer, Enterprise Network Engineering
- 4+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies
- 4+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP network
- 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture
- Experience with router platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, Arista, Brocade, Extreme, Citrix, F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto
