Senior Cloud Engineer

AWS Cross Domain Operations team is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support critical national security computing infrastructure. This role involves managing and operating essential cross domain services for U.S. Intelligence and Defense customers, ensuring secure cloud capabilities across classified environments. The position requires expertise in operational excellence, system reliability, and security compliance.

As a senior team member, you'll lead initiatives to improve system availability, implement robust processes, and drive operational metrics. You'll work with a close-knit team of about 10 Cloud Engineers, collaborating with Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Technical Program Managers. The role demands strong troubleshooting skills, calm incident management, and strategic thinking about scaling solutions.

Your responsibilities include leading operational reviews, mentoring team members, participating in design reviews, and maintaining 24/7 on-call rotation for critical issues. You'll have significant autonomy while ensuring the highest standards of operational excellence for national security infrastructure.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $139,500 to $210,000 based on location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. This role requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
