Description For Systems Engineer, ESC Managed Operations

AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a groundbreaking initiative in utility computing. This role is part of the AWS Managed Operations team, focusing on building and leading operations for high-availability AWS services specifically for EU customers. The position involves working with core AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock.

As a Systems Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of the ESC launch in 2025, collaborating with global AWS teams to shape the future of AWS services. Your daily responsibilities will include working with technology leaders, improving operations, and ensuring optimal service performance across availability, reliability, latency, and efficiency metrics.

The role is based in Dublin, Ireland, and includes participation in on-call rotations. You'll be part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), which drives product innovations from foundational services to cutting-edge features. The position requires strong technical expertise in cloud systems, troubleshooting capabilities, and proficiency in languages like Python, Ruby, Java, or TypeScript.
