Description For Electrical Engineer II

Axon, a company dedicated to Protecting Life, is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join their New Ventures department in Brussels, Belgium. This role will support the Sky-Hero team in developing cutting-edge UAV and UGV reconnaissance products for law enforcement and military special operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in electronics or equivalent experience, with a passion for designing embedded electronics systems. Key responsibilities include participating in R&D for next-generation products, designing electronics systems, PCB layout, testing prototypes, and assisting firmware engineers.

The role requires excellent all-round electronics knowledge, proficiency in multi-layer PCB layout, awareness of EMC and signal integrity issues, and experience with ECAD packages like Altium Designer or Cadence OrCAD. Strong hands-on skills, programming knowledge in C for embedded contexts, and English proficiency are essential.

Responsibilities For Electrical Engineer II

  • Participate in R&D of next generation products
  • Design electronics systems, layout PCBs, test and verify prototypes
  • Assist firmware engineers in bringing up new boards
  • Design and implement jigs for production testing of new boards
  • Conduct pre-compliance tests on new designs
  • Carry designs through final EMC compliance testing at external lab
  • Support manufacturing and follow up on designs for component changes

Requirements For Electrical Engineer II

  • Master's degree in electronics or equivalent experience
  • Passion for designing embedded electronics systems
  • Excellent all-round electronics knowledge, from analog to digital
  • Proficient in multi-layer PCB layout
  • Awareness of EMC and signal integrity issues
  • Knowledge of ECAD package (Altium Designer and/or Cadence OrCAD preferred)
  • Comfortable using test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer)
  • Good hands-on skills for assembling board prototypes and rework
  • Good C knowledge in an embedded context
  • English proficiency
