Description For Failure Analysis Engineer

This role is crucial in maintaining product quality and reliability through detailed root cause analysis of product failures. As a key member of the Failure Analysis team, you'll work with state-of-the-art test equipment, collaborate across multiple departments including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance, and drive important engineering design changes.

Responsibilities For Failure Analysis Engineer

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on in-market product failures and customer returns
  • Select, operate, justify, and procure test equipment systems for FA Lab
  • Coordinate third-party testing
  • Collaborate with R&D for testing plans and execution
  • Gather data to drive engineering design changes and corrective actions
  • Develop and execute RCA testing plans
  • Maintain historic database of findings
  • Produce documentation and reporting of test results
  • Maintain and organize failure analysis lab and equipment
  • Implement 5S Standard for lab organization

Requirements For Failure Analysis Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with FA/RCA
  • Knowledge of electronic/electrical/electromechanical components
  • Experience with PCBA and SMT components
  • Experience with FA tools (Microscopy, Cross-Sectioning, Radiography)
  • Experience with RCA tools (Fishbone diagrams, Five whys)
  • Familiar with test tracking suites (JIRA, FRACAS, GIDEP)
  • Experience with manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office products
