As a Hardware Validation Engineer, you'll join a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of Axon's critical products. The role combines technical expertise with practical problem-solving, requiring you to develop and execute comprehensive validation test procedures across firmware, software, mechanical, and electrical systems.

You'll work at the Deer Valley, Arizona location, collaborating with multiple teams including R&D Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Project Management, and Supply Chain. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact public safety technology while working in a fast-paced, meaningful environment.

The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of validation testing experience and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. You'll need strong analytical skills, experience with bug tracking and documentation, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will range from developing test plans and executing validation tests to supporting failure analysis and working with external labs.

Responsibilities For Hardware Validation Engineer

  • Develop comprehensive test plans for products
  • Incorporate Statistical Analysis into Validation Testing
  • Review & provide input into System & Product Requirements
  • Test product capabilities & features
  • Troubleshoot firmware/software or hardware issues at system level
  • Participate in field testing of products
  • Work with technicians to execute test plans
  • Provide status updates and final reporting
  • Design and improve Validation Test Procedures
  • Execute Validation Tests including Firmware/Software, Mechanical, Environmental, and Electrical
  • Support Failure Analysis and Root Cause Analysis
  • Work with external labs to coordinate testing
  • Implement and maintain 5S Standard for lab organization
  • Develop customer usage models of products

Requirements For Hardware Validation Engineer

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or associated discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with validation or qualification testing
  • Experience with identifying, reproducing, documenting, and reporting bugs
  • Experience presenting test plan and requirements to stakeholders
  • Understanding of Product Development Life Cycle
  • Familiar with Project Management skill set
  • Familiar with Bug and Test Tracking Suites such as JIRA
  • Experience with manufacturing and assembly process
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent skills in MS Office products
  • Ability to influence multi-functional organizations
