Description For Network Engineer

Axon, a pioneering company in safety and justice technology, is seeking a Network Engineer to join their mission of protecting life. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge network infrastructure, including Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco routing/switching, and SD-WAN technologies. As a Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and expanding critical network infrastructure that supports Axon's ecosystem of devices and cloud software.

The position requires 3-5 years of hands-on experience and offers a competitive salary range of $92,650 to $125,350, depending on location and experience. You'll work in a hybrid setting, requiring on-site presence twice a week in either Scottsdale or Boston. The role combines technical expertise with collaborative teamwork, as you'll be configuring and troubleshooting network systems, implementing security measures, and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities For Network Engineer

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems including Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco routing/switching, Aruba Access Points, and SD-WAN solutions
  • Monitor and enhance network performance
  • Support implementation of new network infrastructure projects
  • Assist with network security configurations
  • Collaborate with Network Engineering team on optimizing and scaling network
  • Provide tier-two support for escalated network incidents
  • Document network architectures, configurations, and changes
  • Participate in planning and execution of network upgrades
  • Engage with third-party vendors and service providers
  • Mentor junior team members

Requirements For Network Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering
  • Expertise in Cisco routing and switching (CCNA or CCNP preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Experience with wireless network systems and Aruba Access Points
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN technology
  • Solid understanding of network security principles
  • Proficiency with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
