As a Pre-Sales Sales Engineer, you'll be instrumental in driving sales initiatives through technical expertise and customer engagement. The role requires travel up to 50% of the time and candidates must reside in the western United States.

Key responsibilities include mastering Axon's technology portfolio, leading technical presentations to stakeholders ranging from CIOs to end-users, managing proof-of-concept implementations, and developing technical documentation. You'll be the bridge between customers and internal teams, capturing feature requests and providing crucial feedback to various departments.

The ideal candidate brings 2-3 years of pre-sales or consulting experience, with a strong foundation in SaaS solutions and technical knowledge spanning security, hardware, and cloud technologies. An Associates degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience) is required, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.

Responsibilities For Pre-Sales Sales Engineer

  • Achieve mastery of all Axon technologies/products
  • Lead business and technical presentations
  • Have technical conversations with IT departments and stakeholders
  • Provide technical support during pre-sales cycle
  • Develop relationships with key partners
  • Respond to customer RFPs/RFIs
  • Position technology against competitive offerings
  • Manage POC/Pilot process
  • Develop technical documentation
  • Capture feature requests and provide feedback
  • Develop Statements of Work (SOW)

Requirements For Pre-Sales Sales Engineer

Linux
  • Associates degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent field), or 5+ years relevant experience
  • 2-3 years customer facing pre-sales or consulting background
  • Experience selling SaaS based solutions
  • Experience in End User Compute or Cloud Computing preferred
  • Basic knowledge of security, IPsec, InfoSec
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and storage devices
  • Strong presentation skills and technical acumen
  • Intermediate knowledge of routing and switching methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Network certifications (CCNA, CCNP, ComTIA Network+, WCNA, etc.)
