This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing skills, requiring someone who can masterfully present Axon's ecosystem of devices and cloud software to various stakeholders in the law enforcement and public safety sector.

As a Sales Engineer, you'll be instrumental in driving technical sales initiatives, conducting demonstrations, managing proof-of-concept implementations, and serving as a technical advisor throughout the sales cycle.

The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of pre-sales experience, particularly in the legal market, combined with strong technical knowledge in security, networking, and cloud technologies. This role requires extensive travel (up to 75%) and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, from IT departments to C-level executives.

Responsibilities For Sales Engineer

  • Achieve mastery of all Axon technologies/products
  • Lead business and technical presentations
  • Have technical conversations with IT departments and stakeholders
  • Provide 1st-level technical support during pre-sales cycle
  • Develop relationships with key partners
  • Provide responses to customer RFPs/RFIs
  • Position technology against competitive offerings
  • Manage POC/Pilot process
  • Develop Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Capture feature requests and provide feedback to various teams

Requirements For Sales Engineer

  • Associates degree in Engineering or Computer Science or 5+ years relevant experience
  • 3-5 years customer facing pre-sales or consulting background
  • 3+ years in direct engagement with the legal market
  • Experience selling SaaS based solutions
  • Basic knowledge of security, IPsec, InfoSec
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and storage devices
  • Strong presentation skills and technical acumen
  • Intermediate knowledge of routing and switching methodologies
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%
