Senior Networking Software Engineer

As a Senior Networking Software Engineer on the CloudNet team within the APX platform engineering organization, you'll be passionate about delivering solutions to real-time problems our mission-critical cloud native services encounter. You'll work closely with sovereign operations teams that operate Axon systems around the world, and your technical influence will extend to the entire engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Axon's journey into Istio service mesh applications
• Be a builder and operator, advancing new features while stewarding existing system components
• Advise software engineers on networking topics
• Automate routine maintenance of the cloud platform with minimal downtime (4x9s availability)

Requirements:

• Experience with service mesh technologies, such as Envoy and Istio (required)
• 6+ years experience working on globally diverse 24/7 high volume systems
• Demonstrated experience in networking topics (infrastructure and services)
• Excellent problem-solving skills for debugging cloud native distributed systems
• Familiarity with GitOps approach to software delivery
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code on public cloud (Azure preferred)
• Experience operating Kubernetes clusters at scale
• Proficiency in Python, Golang, or Scala/Java
• Ability to gain CJIS clearance for full US production access
