Senior Privacy Engineer

At Axon, we're on a mission to Protect Life. We're explorers, pursuing society's most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. As a Senior Privacy Engineer at Axon, you'll be a technical lead on the Privacy team, intimately involved in architecture decisions shaping privacy tools and services. You'll design, build, and maintain back-end systems and services that power privacy and data compliance across the Axon ecosystem. This role requires expertise in cloud-based systems, data pipelines, and privacy-enhancing technologies. You'll work closely with product managers and designers, mentor other engineers, and contribute to a mission-driven team positively impacting the lives of first responders and those they serve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement highly-available, scalable cloud-based systems
• Lead design reviews and make technology decisions
• Build data pipelines for privacy processes and workflows
• Implement data anonymization/de-identification tools
• Integrate 3rd party solutions with internal systems
• Develop robust APIs that perform and scale in a multi-tenant environment
• Mentor and uplevel other engineers

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or other public cloud infrastructure
• Expertise in backend services using languages like Java, Scala, Go, C#, or Python
• Knowledge of SQL or NoSQL data stores
• Strong system design and architecture skills
