Description For Senior Video Electrical Engineer

Axon is seeking a Senior Video Electrical Engineer to join their mission-driven team. As a senior member of the Video Electrical Engineering team, you'll lead and engage in the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge video product electronics for Axon Body Worn Cameras, Docks, and accessory devices. You'll own critical electronics designs, interact with global connections, and mentor junior engineers. The role involves researching and developing industry-leading circuit designs, using OrCAD Schematic tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and seeing products through from concept to mass production. You'll need strong skills in high-speed application processor integration, power system design, and proficiency with various lab tools. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, at least 9 years of industry experience, and expertise in areas such as microcontroller design, high-speed memory subsystems, and RF subsystem integration. Responsibilities For Senior Video Electrical Engineer

  • Lead and engage in design, development, and testing of video product electronics
  • Research and develop industry-leading circuit designs for body-worn cameras and related devices
  • Use OrCAD Schematic tools to design embedded Mixed-Signal electronic circuits
  • Collaborate with PCB engineers on printed circuit board layout designs
  • Perform schematic and layout design inspections
  • Develop test plans and methods for evaluating designs
  • Bring up, characterize, and debug systems using lab tools
  • Assess and document design outcomes and test results
  • Optimize performance of electronics design
  • Develop and finalize Bill of Materials and design documentation
  • Mentor and elevate skills of team members

Requirements For Senior Video Electrical Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline
  • Minimum 9 years of industry electronics design experience
  • Experience with high-speed, high-density, portable, battery-powered embedded circuits
  • Proficiency in microcontroller and high-speed applications processor design
  • Strong experience with power system definition/design/integration
  • Skilled with power consumption analysis for battery-powered applications
  • Proficiency with high-speed interface design and verification testing
  • Experience with schematic integration and layout of high-speed memory subsystems
  • Proficiency in integrating wireless systems (LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth/BLE)
  • Strong schematic design skills using industry-leading tools (preferably Cadence/OrCAD)
  • PCB design proficiency
  • Experience with engineering processes from concept to mass production
  • Ability to collaborate with firmware engineering on Linux-based hardware
  • Experience designing products to pass regulatory standards (FCC, CE, IEC, etc.)
