Description For Supplier Quality Engineer

Axon, a leading company in safety and justice technology, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their mission to Protect Life. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality of Axon's product ecosystem, including Conducted Electrical Weapons, Body Worn Cameras, and related accessories. The position involves working closely with suppliers, Design Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to improve product quality and supplier performance.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for auditing supplier processes, evaluating new suppliers, managing New Product Introduction compliance, and ensuring quality standards are met. The role requires expertise in quality management systems, manufacturing processes, and statistical analysis. You'll be instrumental in reducing PPMs, lowering quality-related costs, and improving delivery performance.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of manufacturing experience, strong technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities For Supplier Quality Engineer

  • Audit supplier critical manufacturing & inspection processes
  • Evaluate and select new potential suppliers
  • Ensure New Product Introduction (NPI) compliance
  • Review product validation and monitor supplier process FMEA
  • Assess supplier inspection capabilities
  • Evaluate supplier engineering drawings and specifications
  • Issue Corrective Action Requests and Non-Conformance Material Reports
  • Monitor supplier quality performance
  • Provide feedback and metrics on supplier quality performance
  • Communicate across U.S. and Asia time zones

Requirements For Supplier Quality Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry and/or Material Engineering
  • 3+ years experience in manufacturing of mechanical parts
  • Knowledge of quality management system (QMS) requirements
  • Experience in first and second party audits
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and schematics
  • Understanding of inspection processes and statistical sampling
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified
  • Experience with statistical software
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English
