Description For Analytics Engineer

Beam Benefits, founded in 2012 by three engineers, is revolutionizing the dental benefits industry using technology. Starting with the Beam Brush, an early example of IoT in healthcare, Beam has expanded to offer a suite of ancillary employee benefits across 40+ states. As an Analytics Engineer at Beam, you'll work in a dynamic environment that spans insurance, employee benefits, and technology. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and maintain the data warehouse, playing a crucial role in establishing a solid data foundation for this data-driven company.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with engineering, product, and analytics teams to improve data usability, quality, and reliability
  • Collaborating with Data Engineers on the overall data platform development
  • Driving the development and maintenance of the data warehouse
  • Applying software engineering best practices to analytics processes
  • Developing and maintaining data quality rules, documentation, and definitions

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Experience in data warehousing, preferably with AWS or GCP in a high-growth company
  • Advanced SQL skills, including window functions
  • Proficiency in Python or another programming language
  • Experience with or knowledge of dbt, BI visualization tools like Looker or Tableau
  • Familiarity with data pipeline platforms (e.g., Fivetran, Stitch) and orchestration tools (e.g., Dagster, Airflow)

Responsibilities For Analytics Engineer

  • Work with engineering, product, and analytics teams to understand and scope requirements to improve the useability, quality, and reliability of data for the business
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to further the development of our overall data platform
  • Drive the development and maintenance of our data warehouse
  • Apply software engineering best practices to uplift analytics processes
  • Work with the data team to develop and maintain data quality rules, documentation and definitions

Requirements For Analytics Engineer

Python
  • Data warehousing experience, preferably with AWS or GCP at a hyper-growth company
  • Advanced SQL concepts such as window functions
  • Proficient with Python or another programming language
  • Experience with or awareness of dbt
