Security Engineer

As a Security Engineer at Benchling, you'll join a team dedicated to safeguarding critical data and supporting the security program. Your role will span from building and maintaining internal security tools to managing mission-critical security infrastructure for both employees and customers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining security tools and infrastructure
• Collaborating with Product Security and Software Engineers on AWS cloud security
• Contributing to security detection, response, and investigation efforts
• Evaluating and integrating new security tools
• Researching new detection mechanisms for relevant attack vectors
• Developing processes for security data management and quality assurance

This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in building robust security solutions that will scale with Benchling's growth. You'll work in a collaborative environment, partnering with various engineering teams on both internal and customer-facing security and privacy initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in Security Engineering or related role
• Experience in coding, system design, and data workflows for security analytics
• Knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and security suites
• Familiarity with modern infrastructure technologies (Docker, Terraform, etc.)
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language, preferably Python
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
