Biffa Waste Services is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for shifts. This role is part of the engineering team, contributing to internal & external preventative, reactive, and corrective maintenance work on plant equipment. The goal is to improve machine reliability, availability & capacity to manufacturing standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing reactive and pro-active maintenance on operational equipment and facilities infrastructure
- Liaising with external contractors for maintenance
- Following and completing planned maintenance via a Computer Maintenance Management System
- Participating in projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assisting in the administration of the CMMS (Frontline)
The ideal candidate will have:
- Multi-skilled maintenance engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) qualifications
- IOSH - Managing Safely certification
- Previous maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or waste environment
- Familiarity with continuous improvement (CI) methodologies
- Knowledge of various mechanical drive arrangements

The role involves shifts from 6am – 6pm and 6pm – 6am on a four on, four off rotation. Safety is a top priority, and the engineer will work closely with the SHEQ team to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
