Description For Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer

Biffa Waste Services is seeking an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer for their Rotherham site. This role involves primarily electrical maintenance inspections and routine repairs within all areas of the site to ensure utmost reliability and safety whilst reducing downtime events on critical assets. The position offers a competitive salary of £46,285.20 per annum with a four on four off shift pattern (days and nights) and overtime paid at 1.5 times.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing running faults and ensuring effective repairs and improvements
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance practices
  • Implementing plant upgrades and modifications to required standards
  • Reporting through computerized maintenance management system
  • Developing and implementing planned preventative maintenance programs
  • Anticipating machine failures and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
  • Ensuring SHEQ standards are maintained
  • Driving a culture of employee motivation and commitment
  • Assisting in identifying annual lifecycle requirements and capital applications

The ideal candidate should be fit and active, as the role involves working in enclosed/restricted spaces and at heights. Essential qualifications include a recognized Apprenticeship, Electrical bias Multi Skilled Engineer qualifications (ONC/BTEC NVQ 3 discipline level), and BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulation Qualifications.

Requirements For Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer

  • Fit & active - able to work in enclosed/restricted spaces and at heights
  • Recognized Apprenticeship, Electrical bias Multi Skilled Engineer with ONC/BTEC NVQ 3 discipline level (Elec Bias)
  • BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulation Qualifications
  • Experience working on single and 3-phase AC and DC systems
  • Waste Processing equipment knowledge (preferable)
  • IT literate - comfortable using business software and systems
  • Full UK car driving licence
  • Live within a 20-mile radius of site
  • Experience of FMCG type environment
